Microsoft Asia-Pacific Research and Development Group (Microsoft ARD) serves as one of the core bases for Microsoft global fundamental research, technology incubation, product development and ecosystem development. It is Microsoft’s largest, most comprehensive R&D center outside of the United States, with over 5,000 scientists and engineers in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Taipei, and Tokyo. Field Trip Information

COMPSCI 301 Algorithms and Databases: Students analyzed the relationship between algorithms and databases with data science and mechanical learning. The use of algorithms and databases in specific Microsoft projects or products was displayed for students so they could gain an understanding of the real-life applications of such computations. As a highlight, more was learned about full-time and internship positions at Microsoft Suzhou for students in the big data science fields, including giving out information about specific hiring requirements and advice for students seeking jobs, etc.
