lying South of the Humble Administrator’s Garden, with a history of more than 2,500 years, Pingjiang Road Historic Street is the most complete ancient street in Suzhou and is a common attraction for visitors. Centering on Pingjiang Road, it is a small river-side road with a total length of 1,606 meters, hosting alleys such as Xuanqiao Alley, Daru Alley, Weidaoguanqian Alley, Zhongzhangjia Alley, and Daxinqiao Alley on its east and west sides. Fascinating water lanes pass by in the east, where one can witness water and land traffic parallel to each other, neighboring rivers and streets, and other attractions highlighting characteristics of the water city south of the Yangtze River. The historic street hosts multiple quaint shops that are popular among literary and artistic youths. For example, students can visit the Cat Sky Center, a beautiful and lively bookstore offering “postcards for the future”, small flower shops, and distinctive Suzhou-style clothing shops
