Suzhou CDC 苏州市疾病预防控制中心

The Suzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention (hereinafter referred to as CDC) is an administrative institution organized by the Suzhou Municipal Government under the direct the leadership of the Suzhou Municipal Health Bureau, and guidance of the Jiangsu Provincial CDC. The Suzhou CDC implements disease prevention and control and public health technical services within its jurisdiction. In accordance with the overall goal of health reform and the effective use of health resources in Suzhou, the CDC was established on October 25, 2001. Based on the former Suzhou Health Prevention Station, Suzhou Schistosomiasis Control Station, Suzhou Dermatology Control Station, Suzhou Tuberculosis Control Station, and Suzhou Health Education Station, it is a health promotion and disease prevention institution that integrates disease prevention and control, health testing and hygienic evaluation, health education and promotion, applied research and operational guidance, and technical support into a comprehensive system.

GLHLTH 302 Social Determinants of Health: The purpose of this trip was to provide the students with the opportunity to understand how local health agencies address health disparity issues through social determinants approach, as well as learn about government agency working environment and potential job opportunities.
