Suzhou Museum 苏州博物馆

Suzhou Museum is a local historical and artistic museum. The museum lies at the site of the royal residence of Zhong Prince, Li Xiucheng, the loyal king of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. The new museum was completed in October 2006, designed by the famous architect I.M. Pei.

MEDIART 101 Introduction to Media and Arts: The exhibition of Buddhist carvings from Dazu currently on display at the Suzhou Museum was an opportunity to explore the distinction in the historical categories of art and craft across history, to examine modular iconography in religious art, and see the significance of its public nature.
